How to Structure an SEO Content Brief in Notion
Learn the exact framework we use to build content briefs that keep writers on track and improve search rankings.
A good content brief is the difference between a post that ranks and one that flops. But most briefs are either too vague or too rigid. Here's a middle ground.
Start with the target keyword and search intent. Is the user looking for a definition, a list, or a step-by-step guide? Write one sentence that captures the core answer. Then list 3-5 subtopics that the top-ranking pages cover. Use a Notion toggle to hide the subtopics until the writer needs them.
Next, include a "must-include" section: internal links, external references, and a specific call-to-action. Finally, add a checklist for on-page SEO: meta title, URL slug, image alt text. Our template automates all of this with linked databases and rollups.
